Montessori School of Cambridge, is a well established, vibrant school that has been providing consistent
and quality early childhood programs to the families of Cambridge for 47 years. We are a not-for-profit
CCMA accredited school that is overseen by a board of directors. At MSC our goal is to provide quality
education within a safe and sound learning environment, affording every child equal opportunity to
thrive and achieve, in order to reach his/her full potential.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR:
1) 3 hour lunch coverage in a CASA classroom
2) 2 hour French instruction in both CASA and Toddler classrooms
3) Supply staff
*able to combine 1 and 2 together

MSC is currently looking for experienced DECE’s (preferably Montessori trained) that are highly motivated
and committed to embracing the school’s mission, value and sense of community. We are looking for
individuals who are positive team players that possess strong classroom management skills and the ability
to multi-task in a fast paced environment. The DECE’s will be individuals who posses a love for learning
themselves and who are able to pass this love onto children. Our ideal candidates will be enthusiastic
and able to collaborate with staff and build strong meaningful relationships with the students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* to deliver high quality care for all of our students
* plan and implement an oral based French program for three classrooms - 2 CASA
  rooms aged 3-5 and one toddler classroom aged 18 months-2 years old
* cover lunch breaks in one CASA classroom aged 3-5
* assist with lunchroom routines and help serve children lunch
* plan and implement engaging carpet time activities
* ensure the safety of all students is maintained at all times
* adhere to all CCEYA requirements

REQUIREMENTS:
* DECE certification - preference given to those who have Montessori training
* a clean and valid vulnerable sector police check
* valid first aid & CPR
* strong oral French skills and a solid understanding of the building blocks of the French language
* able to work well as part of a team and willing to support others
* exceptional problem solving capabilities
* able to multi-task
* strong classroom management skills

CAREER OPPORTUNITY: Director of Child Care Service

MSC is currently looking for an experienced leader that is highly motivated and
committed to embracing the school’s mission, value and sense of community. We are
looking for an individual who is able to collaborate with staff, liaise with parents and
build strong external partnerships in order to help develop our students into life long
learners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Oversee the implementation all of educational programs and ensure they meet the high standards of an authentic Montessori program
*Establish a caring, nurturing environment in which all children will flourish
*Effectively manage the school’s staff by recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling and supporting individuals in various roles
*Plan and lead staff meetings
*Conduct staff performance appraisals and coach on best practices
*Coordinate CCMA school accreditation process
*maintain our service agreement with the Region of Waterloo
*Ensure that standards and regulations are met for annual licensing of the school under the CCEYA
*Maintain a sound physical environment and develop policies to conform to government standards of safety, cleanliness and health
*Establish and maintain open communication with parents, staff and the community
*Maintain the waitlist for spaces and coordinate tours and registration
*Collaborate with the Business Manager to create a budget and provide operational oversight and strategic planning
*Consult with community agencies, make referrals when required and apply for enhanced staffing when needed
*Attend conferences and networking sessions
*Report monthly to the board of directors

REQUIREMENTS:

*minimum of 5 years experience in an administrative/director role at a licensed child care centre
*Montessori training and experience as a CASA teacher and/or Early Childhood Education Diploma (Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood
Educators RECE)
*valid standard first aid and child CPR
*valid safe food handlers certificate
*valid vulnerable sector check
*knowledge of administrative policies and procedures including the Child Care Early Years Act
*strong work ethic and excellent leadership skills
