Aurora Montessori School

Job Description

Our mission is to help children realize the great potential that rests within them, by assisting them in developing a sense of self, and inspiring them to act on their ambitions. By adhering to the core principles, philosophies and pedagogues of Dr. Maria Montessori we are devoted to each child’s intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and physical development.

At AMS, the Infant/Toddler Montessorian is always observing, watching and tracking developmental milestones, guiding young children and gauging what materials to present in order to help children choose and progress at their own pace, in their own time and space; when we provide just the right material at the right time to catch the wave of emerging development. When we present a child the perfect piece of material, he or she erupts into extended focus and concentration, with high interest and joy. When we see these moments of a formerly-restless child finally concentrated, we realize that doing what nature needs us to do in sync with the “sensitive periods” in development brings joy and peace.

Aurora Montessori School is seeking for the right candidate to best fit this role. We are looking to hire a dynamic, energetic, experienced Infant/Toddler Montessorian to be part of a team of three staff, who educates, nurtures and cares for every aspect of the child including the physical, intellectual, social, emotional and the spiritual.

Must haves:

·         Hold an AMI or MACTE Montessori Infant/Toddler diploma (0 to 3 years)

·         RECE certification is beneficial but not necessary

·         3 - 5 years of experience in a Montessori environment

·         Highly skilled in classroom management, record keeping, child observations, parent communications, report writing and more

·         Team teaching skills

·         Team player

·         Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

·         Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certification

·         Up to Date Immunizations
