Position: Permanent Full time School Administrator

Start Date: Flexible start date between March – September 2017

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicating with parents and staff
  • Managing all student records
  • Email communication with parents and inquiries
  • Writing school communications and newsletters
  • Conducting tours
  • Coordinating all school events such as concerts, workshops, open houses, school picnic, extra curricular activities and field trips

Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or Equivalent and or RECE
  • AMS/AMI /MACTE diploma – or Firm understanding of the principles of Montessori Education
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent work ethic and the ability to work independently and cooperatively
  • Strong computer skills
  • Knowledge of CCEYA and Ministry of Education requirements

North Hill Montessori School is a co-educational private school founded in 2010 following the true methods of the Montessori philosophy in order to meet and exceed the needs of 1.5 to 6 year old children. We are committed to offering a nurturing, friendly, and supportive environment for our students and delivering the highest quality education program. We are currently seeking an administrator to begin with us part time at our current campus during the construction of our next campus, eventually becoming full time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The administrator will be responsible for the administration of the school. Duties will include but are not limited to: 
    • Updating and filing records and forms
    • Writing school emails, blogs, and newsletters
    • Taking minutes of staff meetings
    • Ordering supplies
    • Managing the Principal’s Schedule (booking tours, meetings, interviews etc.)
    • Assisting in setting up key events (open houses, school concert, art night, camps, etc.)
    • Tracking key information
    • Arranging supply teachers
    • Answering the phone and managing the school email
    • Liaising with parents, staff and students
    • Some bookkeeping duties


  • Registered ECE
  • Firm understanding of the principles of Montessori Education
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • School or daycare administration experience

This is an all-purpose administrator position that will incorporate many aspects of day-to-day operations including admissions, oversight of the Casa program with regards to Ministry of Education requirements, reception, marketing, events, etc. Exact role will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the school each year in collaboration with the rest of the administrative team.   • AMI or MACTE Montessori Casa level training
  • five or more years teaching in a Casa classroom
  • experience with the Day Nursery Act and the  Childcare and Early Years Act (CCEYA)
