Mastermind Montessori Schools (MMS) was founded on warm, loving relationships between our students, our parents, our teachers and our staff members. MMS offer Montessori-based Pre-School program for 18 months to age 6.

At MMS, we believe we can positively affect the child’s inner sense of responsibility to their world by nurturing their love and respect for their environment.

Position

MMS is expanding to Aurora and we are hiring for both campuses.  We are seeking Montessori certified and/or ECE teachers who are passionate about Montessori teaching and possess the qualities to work as a team and a willingness to grow with us.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and implementing activities that encourage children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development;
  • Maintain open communication with co-workers and parents;
  • Maintain up to date student records, proficient in report card writing;
  • Plan and create group lessons, materials and art pieces surrounding monthly themes;
  • Observe and record relevant information on each child's progress as required/as per School practices;
  • Maintain classroom and all teaching materials in good condition, responsible for toy/material disinfection;
  • Participate in outdoor activities with children for at least 2 hours per day;
  • Ensure the program compliance with all ministry and program’s standards. i.e. CCEYA, CCMA;
  • Provide supervision and training of students and supply teachers;
  • Attend all mandatory training required by the school;
  • Participate in all school events including open houses, parental meetings, etc. required by the school;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by classroom teaches/principal/school director.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years experiences in a preschool environment.
  • Montessori Certified/Registered member of the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and Level “C” CPR.
  • Up-to-date medical, TB test and immunization record required.
  • Criminal reference check required upon hiring.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written).
  • Effective organizational, scheduling and time management skills.
  • Ability to observe, document and facilitate each child’s learning for developmental planning.

All positions are to work with a diverse team of early learning and care providers at our accredited Montessori school and licensed childcare centre. The candidates will, with direction from the Principal and her Assistant provide group and individual care, planning and implementation of the set out educational curriculum plans reflecting the school’s philosophy, within the toddler age group; including Before and After Care. The candidates will be responsible for implementing a complete range of activities that encourage growth and development for toddlers within a stimulating and safe environment; assist in program and service evaluation; assist in maintaining all licensing requirements; follow required and legislated regulations, policies and protocols; early identification services; assist in developing and sharing resources, collaborating with staff,  volunteers and student placements; support and maintain involvement of parents and families of our school and adhering to the Montessori Philosophy of Education and way of life.  

• Knowledge of a second language i.e. French, Spanish, Greek is an asset.
