Position

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning and implementing activities that encourage children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development;

  • Up-to-date medical, TB test and immunization record required.
  • Criminal reference check required upon hiring.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Early Childhood Montessori Diploma
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience in a Montessori setting is preferred
  • Certified in Standard First Aid, including Infant & Child CPR – Level C
  • Current criminal reference check, vulnerable sector screening will be requested
  • Updated immunization record and TB test required

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To plan and implement an effective Montessori program for children within a warm and nurturing learning environment
  • To supervise the children at all times, ensuring a safe environment
  • To maintain a positive and consistent approach towards child management that is compatible with the philosophy and values of Pine Lake Montessori School
  • To communicate with parents on a daily basis in an open and supportive manner
  • To assist, supervise, and guide students as well as any supply staff and/ or volunteers
  • To demonstrate sound knowledge of all relevant sections of the Child Care Early Years Act
  • To maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and courtesy at all times

Bluffer’s Park Montessori School is seeking an experienced Montessori Casa Teacher, MACTE or AMI certified to co-teach children ages 2 and a half months to 6 years of age. RECE certification is an asset. Minimum 2 years experience as a Casa teacher is required.

Taddle Creek Montessori School, part of the Mildenhall family of schools, is located in the historic Annex area of downtown Toronto and has been providing high-fidelity Montessori education to children age 2.5-12 for over 20 years. Taddle Creek is looking for a Montessori Casa teacher to start in the Fall of 2019, who has the knowledge and skills necessary to follow the philosophy as set forth by Dr. Montessori. The person we are looking for will not only have a deep, abiding interest in Montessori and child development, but also have strong interpersonal skills, a love of learning, and be a team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and delivering high-fidelity Montessori education
  • Establishing a child-centred classroom that encourages children to be independent and to respect themselves and others
  • Fostering a feeling of joy and discovery
  • Ensuring a safe and caring environment for students and their parents
  • Reporting and record keeping that ensures that the Principal and parents are kept abreast of the challenges, successes and competencies of each child
  • Having effective communication skills, and actively and positively interacting with parents in both formal and informal settings

Qualifications and requirements:

  • AMI Primary (Casa) level training
  • 5 years experience leading a Casa classroom
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain
  • Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within past 6 months
