To cover a maternity leave commencing September 2010 (with the option of working summer camp prior to the school year).  We require a MACTE certified Montessori trained teacher with fantastic communication skills and the ability to work with co-teachers and parents and, above all else, inspire children. A minimum of 5 years as a classroom teacher is preferred.

The International Montessori School of Beijing (MSB), founded in 1990, seeks experienced Montessori lead teachers for pre-school and elementary positions for the school year 2010 -2011.

The International Montessori School of Beijing has been serving Beijing's expatriate children and their families for 20 years. MSB was established in 1990 by Caroline Chen Gaillard in a schoolroom with 10 students at the Norwegian Embassy, and soon relocated to a spacious building in the Sanlitun district of Beijing to accommodate growing enrolment. As the demographics of Beijing’s international community changed and many families began moving to the suburbs, we built small, “neighbourhood” schools at Beijing Riviera and River Garden Villas to be nearer to our students. We briefly joined the Dulwich College family of schools in 2004, and returned once again to full independence as Beijing’s first and finest Montessori programme in 2006. In 2007 we celebrated the grand opening of yet two more campuses, one in Champagne Cove and the second in Cherry Tree Lane. The latter is proudly equipped with a large Sports Hall and soccer pitch, swimming pool, Art Studio, children’s kitchen, Music room, Learning Support wing and 15 Montessori classrooms for students ranging in the ages from 12 months to 12 years. We offer both all English and Dual Language instruction.

Each spacious classroom is fully equipped with Nienhuis Montessori materials.  Each classroom has one lead teacher, and two- three assistant teachers and a maximum of 24 children.

MSB is also an Examination and Training Centre site of the Northeast Montessori Institute (NMI) in Boston. NMI is an affiliate of the American Montessori Society (AMS) and is accredited by the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE). We have had a long standing professional relationship with NMI dating back to the 1990’s. Since that time we have trained many teacher assistants in the Montessori Method of Education.
