North Star Montessori Elementary is seeking
2 AMI trained Elementary Head Teachers
Full-time permanent positions starting as soon as possible
$65,000 – 68,000 annual salary
Located in beautiful North Vancouver, British Columbia, (1325 East Keith Rd)

Requirements applicants must have:
– AMI Montessori Elementary Diploma
– Current First Aid certification
– Criminal record check required
– University Degree and eligible for BC Independent School Teacher Certification
– Minimum three years of Montessori teaching experience
– Must be completely fluent in reading, writing and speaking English

Duties:
– Prepare courses for presentation to students according to approved AMI Montessori Elementary curriculum
– Identify students’ individual learning needs
– Promote activities that lead students to increase their physical, mental and social development
– Teach students using a systematic plan of lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations and field trips in accordance with AMI and BC Ministry of Education
– Evaluate student progress and discuss results with students, parents and school officials
– Prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra support
– Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences and teacher training workshops
– May supervise assistants, teacher’s aides and student teachers
