Kawartha Montessori School (KMS) is the only CCMA accredited Montessori school within the beautiful Kawartha area. Our campus is located on 10 acres directly beside Mark S. Burnham Provincial Park and we have been in operation for 43 years. We have a dynamic team of dedicated staff, an engaged parent community, and a committed volunteer Board of Directors. Your Role at KMS:
We wish to recruit a trained, passionate, and committed Grade 7 & 8 teacher, to fill a full-time role beginning August 25, 2025. As a key member of our school, you will deliver a vibrant educational program grounded in Montessori pedagogy and the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum for grades 7 & 8. The program is a unique and academically rigorous Montessori experience. Its integrated curriculum is grounded in experiential, inquiry based and student-directed learning. Students work in a collaborative environment where accountability and critical thinking are encouraged. As in other KMS classes, our Middle School program aims to foster respectful, caring and empathetic interpersonal relationships, self and group leadership. This successful candidate should be adept at working in a fast-paced and complex school environment. They should possess excellent skills in organization, decision-making, and oral and written communication.
Qualifications/Skills:
– Bachelor of Education degree
– Competency in teaching grade 7 & 8 math and science curriculum
– Understanding of Montessori pedagogy (asset)
– Passion and experience with outdoor and physical education
– Classroom teaching experience (asset)
– Knowledge of learning differences and exceptionalities
– Must be able to provide a criminal reference check with vulnerable sector screening prior to start date
– Current first-aid and CPR training
