Aurora Montessori School is a co-educational Montessori private school located in the heart of Aurora, Ontario on 14 acres of natural conservation lands. AMS delivers high-quality Montessori programming to students aged Toddler to Grade 8 in a 36,000 sq. ft facility with multiple state-of-the-art playground areas, an outdoor amphitheatre and outdoor classroom, a gymnasium with a performance stage, and so much more.

The Head of Admissions assists in all aspects of admissions, recruitment, and financial aid, from parent inquiry to enrollment. The HA will lead a collaborative effort to develop and implement both short-term and long-term recruitment strategies to ensure Aurora Montessori School meets its enrollment objectives.
The HA is a team player with a warm and collaborative nature, embodies positive energy, possesses superior organization and prioritization skills, and is self-motivated in completing their work. They have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including outstanding written and public speaking ability, and excel in interacting with a variety of people in small and large group settings.
The ideal candidate has a background in the Montessori or traditional education field as well as experience in admissions and financial aid and/or bursary programs. As a creative and dedicated leader, the HA is foremost responsible for assisting in recruiting and retaining students at AMS. The HA will develop and lead inclusive outreach efforts to draw diverse families to the school and ensure that Aurora Montessori School continues to enroll promising students who thrive academically, socially, emotionally, and physically as part of our school community.
Ideally, the HA is a full-time employee of the school, working an average of 35 hours a week during regular school hours, evenings, and some weekends, throughout the year. However, we are open to part-time employment, particularly in the summer, should the ideal candidate come forward. A competitive compensation package will be commensurate with experience. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
– Ideally, a minimum of 2 years of admissions experience
– Strong commitment to Toddler – Grade 8 education (Montessori experience preferred)
– Possesses strong and compelling written and verbal communication skills
– Maintains high standards of excellence in all work and takes responsibility for outcomes
– Self-starter, high energy, flexibility, and warmth
– Possesses strong administrative and organizational skills and demonstrates a facility with managing multiple tasks through effective use of time and resources
– Proficiency with Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
– Willingness to work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
– Ability to exercise good judgment and use discretion with confidential information
– Proficiency with social media
– Knowledge and facility with the Finalsite Enrollment platform is considered and asset
As part of the Administration Team, the Head of Admissions may be involved in the following duties:
– Day-to-day school operations and operational functions
– School logistics and budgets
– Interviewing and hiring school personnel
– Marketing and social media
– Reviewing and implementing school policies and procedures
JOB DESCRIPTION:
– Represent Aurora Montessori School and serve as the face of the school to prospective families and the broader community.
– Engage and inform prospective families about Aurora Montessori School and the benefits of a Montessori education at AMS.
– Actively participate in admissions events including individual and group tours, student trial visits, curriculum information sessions, student observations/testing/interviews, parent-to-parent connections, and individual family conversations.
– Assist, lead and develop communication plans for prospective families to move them from inquiry to enrollment.
– Oversee and participate in the development of admissions materials, Open House events, and marketing practices (including a social media strategy).
– Coordinate professional and efficient handling of applications and communications with parents of prospective students.
– Lead retention efforts.
